    For 55 years, Maurice Cook has been painting in acrylics. Originally from Carbon Hill, he tells us, "My 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Scarbough, influenced me early on as did Norman Rockwell, whose paintings always make me smile".     For 55 years, Maurice Cook has been painting in acrylics. Originally from Carbon Hill, he tells us, "My 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Scarbough, influenced me early on as did Norman Rockwell, whose paintings always make me smile". Mr. Cook has exhibited his artwork throughout the southeast and is especially know in Georgia, Tennessee, and north Florida. His work has earned him numerous 1st and 2nd place prizes and several Best in Shows. Maurice Cook has been participating in Art in the Park for many years and has been a great supporter of the Walker County Art Alliance. He also created 2 mules for the 50 Mule Team Public Art Project, Josephine sponsored by the WCAA and Trusty, sponsored by Byars and Associates.
