Tuxedo Junction

You’ll tap your toes and dance in the aisles as BCT presents Tuxedo Junction, a musical based on the early life of legendary jazz musician, and Birmingham native, Erskine Hawkins. Honoring Black History Month and the first inductee in the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, join us on the journey of a musician and athlete who learned that life is about making choices-and experience live jazz music along the way.  For teachers, classroom exercises are plentiful and examine American Jazz, the Civil Rights Movement and the need for a solid educational foundation for success.
