National Philanthropy Day Luncheon

The Association of Fundraising Professionals – Alabama Chapter (AFP-AL) has announced the selection of the 2015 National Philanthropy Day Awards Honorees who will be celebrated at the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at The Harbert Center, downtown Birmingham.  The luncheon, generously sponsored by the Birmingham Business Journal, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of AL, the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, United Way of Central Alabama, Protective Life, WBHM 90.3 FM, Regions Bank and Cvent, will be emceed by popular community advocate Mike Royer.

The recipients of the 2015 National Philanthropy Day Awards are:

Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy: Aaron Brazelton, nominated by YWCA Central Alabama. 

Outstanding Charitable Organization: Birmingham Change Fund, nominated by Bobby Maxena. 

The William S. Roth Outstanding Fundraising Executive: Jennifer Sholund, CFRE, nominated by Linda Baker, Chief Development Officer at Glenwood, Inc.

The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham Outstanding Professional Advisor: Craig Stephens nominated by Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham. 

Outstanding Corporate Citizen: The Birmingham Barons, nominated by The Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama. 

The United Way of Central Alabama Outstanding Civic Leader: Rosie M. Butler, nominated by Children’s of Alabama. 

The William M. and Virginia B. Spencer Outstanding Philanthropist: Sheila Blair, nominated by The Women’s Fund of Greater Birmingham. 

Tickets for the National Philanthropy Day luncheon can be purchased at npdalabama.org.
