Channeling the spirits of classic R&B, rock and soul into contemporary terms, Mark Broussard brings his Louisiana heart to Birmingham to help us celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Known for his sultry voice and mesmerizing guitar instrumentations, Broussard will charm you with the authentic sounds heard through his music. » Marc released his first album, Momentary Setback, at the age of 20 in 2002. However, his talent was no secret before then. At the age of 5, Marc hopped on stage with his father’s band and belted out “Johnny B. Goode,” and has been tapped as a talent to watch since. » NPR describes his voice “like a 40-year-old man who’s been knocked down and got up more times than he can remember.” While Broussard describes himself as “A white boy singing soul music,” he draws his inspiration from his Acadian roots and musical family. Growing up his house was filled with the sounds of such past ASC favorites as Chick Corea and George Benson, all from his father’s album collection. » If you are looking for a dirt-and-grit vibe of south Louisiana this St. Patrick’s Day, get your tickets to see Marc Broussard and get ready to move!
