As many as 10,000 gospel singers and musicians will gather in Birmingham for the Gospel Music Workshop of America annual convention. The group was founded 49 years ago by Grammy Award-winning gospel singer the Rev. James E. Cleveland and now has 150 chapters with more than 30,000 members.
Concerts happen nightly at 6:30 p.m. in the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel ballroom.
