Donizetti’s perennial hit comedy returns to Opera Birmingham’s stage for the first time in over a decade, on March 24 and 26, featuring a cast of Alabama-based artists. This romantic comedy centers around a poor farmer in love with a beautiful woman who is clearly out of his league, as he plans to woo her with the help of a hilarious quack doctor and his magic “love potion.” Conductor Tyson Deaton will lead the musicians of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Birmingham Chorus.
