Birmingham Children's Theatre

Birmingham Children’s Theatre was founded in 1947. Since that time, BCT has grown to become one of America’s largest professional theatres for young audiences. BCT produces 7 shows seasonally, four of which tour, giving the theatre a combined audience of over 250,000 each year.

Birmingham Children’s Theatre is a three-theatre complex. We have a 250-seat theater called the Wee Folks Theater that is specifically designed for a more intimate, interactive experience. This theater is generally used by K-1st Graders. Our 900 seat Mainstage Theatre features stadium seating and a grand 70-foot proscenium stage. It accommodates grades K and up. The Charlotte Lane Dominick Theatre seats 175 and is located in the BCT administrative offices wing of the BJCC.
