2016 Man & Woman of the Year Grand Finale Gala

At the 2016 Grand Finale Gala to be held on June 23, 2016 at Old Car Heaven, the Birmingham Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will announce the names of the 2016 Man and Woman of the Year!

Year after year area mover and shakers take on the challenge to raise the most funds towards cancer research and ensuring access to treatment for blood cancer patients. Though only two can win the titles, each participant is focused on the fact that everyone wins when cancer loses. 

The Grand Finale marks the finish of a fundraising competition that launched on April 14, 2016. Local winners will go on to compete for the national title, which will be announced later in the summer. 

The candidates have a personal mission of not only raising funds to help create a world without blood cancers, but also raising awareness for LLS’s mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. 

This year’s fundraising is in honor of two amazing local patient heroes, the 2016 Boy and Girl of the Year: Hayden Qualls and Abby Usher and Teen of the Year Naomi Pitts.
