2018 Alabama Out of the Darkness Walk

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

The 2017 Out of the Darkness Walk raised over $148,000 and had over 1800 people, and we are hoping for an even more successful year!

Join an expected over 1800 people to walk to Fight Suicide! This is an all ages event focused on educating the community on suicide, honoring the people who have died by suicide in Alabama, and an event to instill hope for people with lived experiences.
