Alabama Kiwanis Midwinter Conference

The Alabama District of Kiwanis International will be hosting a gathering of members from throughout the state for its annual Midwinter Conference to be held in Birmingham’s Harbert Center on Saturday, February 19th. This conference will highlight the difference that Alabama Kiwanis clubs make in communities all throughout our state and throughout the world.

Alabama District Governor Scott Sims (of Homewood, AL) has produced a robust agenda with a welcome from Birmingham’s Mayor Randall Woodfin, a member of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham- the largest Kiwanis Club in the world, Keynote presentations by Kiwanian and founder of Maranathan Academy, Donna Dukes, Kiwanis International President Peter Mancuso, Kiwanis International Children’s Fund President Bob Garretson, Past Kiwanis International President (and Alabama native) Nelson Tucker,  Alabama Key Club Governor Jack Wisdom, and  Alabama CKI Governor Ariana White to name a few. Another highlight of the day will be the presentation for the charter for Alabama’s newest Kiwanis club- the Kiwanis Club of Greater Alabama. This is an internet-based club that meets monthly via Zoom and has a primary philanthropic focus of supporting Children’s of Alabama. We are proud to have 25 Charter Members of this unique club and hope to add many more throughout the year.

While in Birmingham, the Kiwanis International President will also be participating in membership growth campaigns to include:

Growing the Kiwanis Club of Bessemer. This 100-year-old club has a rich history and is looking forward to increasing its impact on the Bessemer community.
Chartering a new club in Vestavia Hills- Kiwanis Club of Vestavia Hills
Speaking at the Kiwanis Club of Indian Springs Village and the Kiwanis Club of Hoover Metro. These are both strong clubs that are looking to increase their impact on the lives of children in their communities.
