Alabama Media Professionals Workshop - Finding Focus: Achieving Wellness

This has been a tough year for everyone, and especially for journalists and other communicators. Oftentimes, we take care of ourselves last. AMP’s Fall Workshop is an opportunity to put yourself first and learn how to better take care of your mind, body and spirit. When you take care of yourself, you can be on top of your game for your family, career and clients.

Speakers will include:

• Dr. Leesha Ellis-Cox, a psychiatrist who will discuss protecting your mental health and managing stress
• Dr. Alexia Vaughn, an optometrist who will talk about eye health for those staring at computer screens all day
• Dr. Helen Ryan, an expert in naturopathy who will give tips for overall body wellness
• Karim Shamsi-Basha, a journalist, author, photographer and yoga instructor who will present relaxation techniques and breathing exercises you can do from your desk
