Birmingham Walking Tour: Parkside

Join Gary Bostany, VPM educational docent, and learn about the transformation of Birmingham’s historic warehouse district to a thriving mixed-use urban neighborhood called “Parkside” along Railroad Park and the surrounding area. Parkside is a standout example of how a well-designed public space, such as Railroad Park, can be a catalyst for new development and economic growth. The Parkside district that surrounds the popular park is among the most rapidly changing spaces in Birmingham. This mixed-use neighborhood has a history worth preserving along with new, good design. Participants will explore both.
