Blazer 5K & 1 Mile Walk

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is thrilled to present the inaugural Blazer 5K & 1 Mile Walk as a part of the Homecoming festivities on October 22nd starting at 8am! You can register as an individual or in a team and the 5K race is for ages 12 and up. The 1 mile walk is for ages 6 and up and children 5 and younger can ride in strollers for either event.

Individual Registration Info:
The packets annd t-shirt pick-up will be October 21st from 7:00am – 6:00pm at the UAB Campus Recreation Center located at 1501 University Blvd. Birmingham, AL 35233. Awards will be presented at 9:30am for the top male and female in each group, the overall top male and female, and team awards. Age groups include: 18-25, 26-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50+. You will received all race day details in your packet. 

Team Registration
Team captain’s are asked to communicate all information to the individuals on their team. We will also have a t-shirt design competition for teams and all designs must be submitted to Bethany Tolar at btolar@uab.edu by October 14, 2016. The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony. Teams must also wear their t-shirt on race day to be elgible for the “Largest Team Award”. Team captains willl be able to pick up packets for their entire team or packets can be picked up individually. Teams will report to the “Team Tent” on race day to sign-in and get credit for participation and there will be an award for best overall team time.
