Join individuals and organizations from throughout Central Alabama for the second Cahaba Connections Conference. The conference will bring together academic institutions, government agencies, environmental organizations and citizens interested in the future of the Cahaba. Held on the Cahaba River at the new Living River retreat and environmental education center, the conference will both celebrate the river and tackle some of the challenges it faces.
Cahaba Connections will provide an opportunity to:
Learn about the current state of the river.
Hear about the work being done to protect and restore the Cahaba.
Discuss ideas for creatively meeting the challenges facing the river.
Network and explore collaborative opportunities for working together.
Schedule
Friday’s schedule offers a mix of informational sessions, panel discussions and open space for participants to engage with one another. For those wishing to spend the night, an optional dinner and overnight lodging is available on Friday night. On Saturday those staying have the option to canoe, hike, bird or hunt for fossils at Living River
