Composing Conversations: A Symphonic Journey with Brian Nabors and the ASO

From inspiration to performance, this incredibly personal and meaningful concert, pays tribute to classical composers, digs a little deeper into musical structure and entertains as the Alabama Symphony Orchestra performs the beautiful soundtrack of a young composer’s career. For the first time, student audiences will enjoy Nabors’ “Letters from Birmingham,” a work commissioned by the ASO and debuted in our 22/23 Season. Nabors says, “From its inception as the steel capital of the South in the late 19th century, the city of Birmingham, Alabama has seen many changes. I could think of no better way to pay homage to my hometown and my identity than to compose a symphony, the first of its kind, to encapsulate the history, growth, and hope of Birmingham.”
