The Urban Turtle Project with guest speaker Dr. Andy Coleman.
The Urban Turtle Project is the brainchild of Andy Coleman, the former Program & Science Director at Birmingham Audubon. Turtles are the subject of Andy’s professional research interests, and this project allows community scientists to join in his efforts to survey, document, and conserve the turtle populations in the waterways of the Birmingham metropolitan area. This program will be held at the Oak Mountain Interpretive Center, just across the street from the Alabama Wildlife Center (404 Terrace Drive, Pelham, Alabama 35124). Cider, punch, and cookies are available starting at 1:30—come early for conversation and refreshments! Note that while the program is free, admission to Oak Mountain State Park is $5/adults, $2 for children (4–11) and seniors (62+).
