Fabricating Armored Gauntlets

In this class, students will use various metalworking tools and skills to create a functional metal articulated gauntlet! Using a template, students will plan and cut patterns out of sheet aluminum whilst learning how to properly use the tools of the trade. This will include how to properly cut and file edges of sheet metal and how to make, install, and set rivets. How to work sheet metal will also be covered including rolled edges for strength and decorative roped edges. No prerequisites are required for this course but attention to detail and fine motor skill is to be taken into consideration.
