"Fences" by August Wilson

Presented by Alabama School of Fine Arts at Dorothy Jemison Day Theater, Birmingham Alabama

Feb 22 - 24 2019

The Alabama School of Fine Arts Theatre Arts Dept. and STEEL MAGIC Theatre present “Fences” by August Wilson – a Pulitzer Prize winning play.

Fences takes place in Pittsburgh, PA in 1957. The play follows Troy Maxson, a 53 year old man struggling to provide for and protect his wife and son.

Filled with tremendous love & struggle, laughter, and gritty realism, Fences is an African-American story that breaks barriers… with heart & eternal humanness.
