Finding Joy in your Darkest Hour

Leeds, AL — We all have those times in life when it seems a dark cloud is constantly hanging over us, but there are ways to brighten your life and actually find joy instead of dread.

Dr. Steve Cleckler, Director of ACHIEVE Adult Education Program at Southeastern Bible College, will share ways to do just that during a five-week series hosted by Eden Westside Baptist Church River Campus in Leeds.

Dr. Cleckler, who received his Doctor of Educational Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, will lead “Finding Joy In Your Darkest Hour: A Study In Philippians” as guest speaker during the special Bible conference, which will take place each Wednesday night, April 17 through May 15, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

During the study, Dr. Cleckler, who has been a pastor for more than 25 years, will share words of wisdom from Paul the Apostle, who was able to find joy even while being imprisoned. The study will focus on Paul’s letter to the Phillipians, and the encouragement he gave them to stay strong and find joy, even as they were being persecuted for their faith. Dr. Cleckler will teach you how to apply these same principals to your own life so that you, too, will be able to find joy, even in your darkest hour.

This Bible conference is offered to all ages and all members of the community at no charge, and visitors are always welcome. Separate age-appropriate activities and free pizza will be provided for youth, kids, and toddlers. Free nursery care will also be provided for babies during the conference.
