The twenty-first installation of our Gosse Nature Walk Series takes us to a beloved bit of green space just down the street from the Birmingham Audubon offices: Avondale Park. Avondale hosts a surprisingly rich collection of woodland birds and interesting geology. It’s also close to some of the best restaurants and coffee shops in the area! Executive Director Ansel Payne will lead this walk as we look for urban birds, taking us back to where our Gosse Nature Walks all started in 2016.
ADMISSION INFO
Pre-registration requested.
The details: Meetup is at noon under the Avondale Park sign in front of the pond (4101 5th Ave. S.). Insect repellent, rain gear, sunblock, and seasonally appropriate attire may all come in handy, depending on the weather. If you have your own binoculars, you’ll definitely want to bring them along—we’ll have only a limited number of loaners on hand.
