Gumbo Gala is one of the largest gumbo competitions in the South and fun for the whole family with live music, cold beverages, artisans’ fair, and a kids’ zone.
No two gumbo recipes are quite the same, a culinary fact that makes this Creole and Cajun favorite as versatile as it is delicious. The stew gets its biggest chance to shine at the 15th Annual Gumbo Gala, a one-day cook-off held by Birmingham’s Episcopal Place. Tickets are available at gumbogala.com and also at the gate. Ticket price is $20. Kids 10 and under receive complimentary admission. Your ticket includes delicious samples of gumbo, live music, and a great time! Vendors will sell additional items including other food options, beverages, and arts & crafts. Most vendors accept cash or card.
