Just A Call Away 5K & Fun Run

Crisis Center, Inc. is proud to announce the third annual Thomas E. Jernigan Foundation Just A Call Away 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run, presented by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Birmingham Mountain Radio and Resolute Running. This 5k is chip timed and takes runners from Birmingham’s Historic Sloss Furnace Historic Landmark through the lively Lakeview district. Just A Call Away 5k is a USAT&F certified event. A 1 Mile Fun Run is offered as well. The Crisis Center is asking people like you, “Who would you run for?” At the Crisis Center, we know that everyone who lives and breathes – at some time or another – finds themselves in crisis.

You may not realize it, but you know someone who needs our help right now. Whether it’s a person who has lost all hope and is contemplating suicide, or who has experienced sexual violence, or is a lonely and indigent senior who has no friends or family left in the world, the Crisis Center is here to help when individuals in desperate need are unsure where to turn.

The Crisis Center is available to meet the needs of those in crisis through services of Crisis Prevention & Intervention, Sexual Assault Support Services, Addiction Recovery Support and Mental Health Services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When you raise money to help the Crisis Center you are helping someone with a critical need find support that will bring hope and healing to their life.

Chip timing is optional.  Runners of all ages and abilities are welcome. Strollers and pets are welcome.

Top 3 Male/Female

Age Group Awards: 
12 and Under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Overall and age-group awards will not be duplicated.
