Outdoor Festival - Mountain High Experience

Join us for the inaugural Mountain High Experience weekend, a 2-day celebration of the great outdoors benefitting the MHX Foundation, Inc. The festival will be taking place at the Birmingham Zoo on Nov. 16 and Oak Mountain State Park on Nov 17.

The festival will be featuring Mountainfilm on Tour, one of America’s longest-running film festivals that uses the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.

FESTIVAL ITINERARY

SATURDAY, 11/16 – THE BIRMINGHAM ZOO

8:00 am : Summit to Cahaba 5k Run

10am – 5pm : Mountainfilm for Student Films

4pm : Zoo Closes to the Public

5pm – 9pm : VIP Event – Rooftop Terraces

Bars open to VIPs from 5:00 – 8:30pm

Appetizers served from 6:00 – 8:00pm

VIPs allowed to come and go from rooftop to lawn for film viewing

6pm – 10pm : Film Series – Henley Lawn

SUNDAY, 11/17 – OAK MOUNTAIN STATE PARK
12pm to 4pm:

Base Camp – Learn How to Camp Workshop

Games

Food trucks

Fishing 101

Guiding hikes start at 12:30

The festival will be benefitting our non-profit organization, the MHX Foundation. The intent of MHX is to inspire and empower each person it touches to lead an active, outdoor and overall healthy lifestyle. We strive to connect the community and people of all ages and families with a variety of outdoor activities, education classes, wellness experiences, as well as the Mountainfilm program, a 5k road race, and the tools, resources and knowledge to live a more well-balanced lifestyle.
