Peace Corps Information Event

Please join the Greater Birmingham Returned Peace Corps Volunteers for a most enjoyable party, reception and recruitment function— all in one evening. Discover exciting service opportunities in countries like Samoa, Paraguay, Ghana and Thailand. You will have opportunities to meet and talk with:

– Returned Peace Corps Volunteers

– Peace Corps Volunteers about to depart on their overseas assignments

– People “Nominated” for and “invited” to Peace Corps service

– Parents of Peace Corps Volunteers currently serving overseas

– Prospective Peace Corps Volunteers

– Those having a general interest in the Peace Corps

– Others with an “international outlook” or general interest in international experiences

– Erica Wherry, Peace Corps Regional Recruiter

Light refreshment will be served. Cash bar. The recruiter will have information materials on the Peace Corps to hand out. Both Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and Erica Wherry from the Regional Peace Corps Office will be available to discuss the Peace Corps with you and answer questions.

GBRPCVs is a non-profit organization committed to sponsoring events for people interested in international service opportunities. The organization is made up of Returned and currently serving Peace Corps Volunteers and people interested in learning more about the Peace Corps. 

In the spirit of our Peace Corps experience, Greater Birmingham RPCVs promotes a continuing commitment to our community. The goals of the organization are:

-To develop a social and community action network

-To remind ourselves and educate others about why we served

-To provide support for potential, current and recently returned Peace Corps volunteers

-To promote public awareness and support for the Peace Corps All activities of the group are open to the public.            

We are expecting fifty or more people to attend.  Please come.  We’ll be delighted to see you there.
