About the artists:
Often referencing the landscape of a new home, or actions from a daily routine, Hoitsma explores and marks psychological and physical shifts. Most recently, her work relates to her experiences as a mother, and the companionship she shares with her young son. Hoitsma holds an MFA from Ohio University, and a BFA from the University of Texas at Tyler.
Wingo works with found objects and images to create work somewhere between painting and collage. Mining history and storytelling, Wingo utilizes candor and humor to capture the soul of the photograph. Wingo received her BA in Art from Auburn University.
Vitali uses the temporal construct of circles. Circles lead to thoughts of wholeness, completeness, and universality. There is no beginning, there is no end, there is only now. Vitali creates shapes, forms and lines with a variety of materials to create objects and images that speak to the human experience of the present moment.
RHYTHM: A meditation on time, opens Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 5:00-7:30 pm, and is also open the following three Sundays. Sunday gallery hours are from 1:00-4:00pm and will include the following events and conversations:
