In its final year, Summer Jam is an initiative by City Councilor Marcus Lundy to promote unity, highlight economic development potential and celebrate the rejuvenation movement of Ensley’s historic downtown. Organizers have coordinated the event as part of a concentrated effort to draw people back into Ensley’s historic downtown and increase awareness that it is a vibrant, safe and viable commercial center. Musical guests from previous years have included both national, regional and local artists from a diverse set of genres, including Algebra Blessett, Alvin Garrett, Todd Simpson & Mojo Child, Gip Gibson, Sebastian Kole, Lee Baines & the Glory Fyres, Just A Few Cats and many more.
Event partners include the Birmingham City Council, Ensley Alive, Ensley Merchant Association, B.E.A.T. and REV Birmingham. For more information about Summer Jams, please contact District 9 Committee Assistant Jose Perry, Jr. at 205.254.2302.
