Telescopes, Planets, and Stars: Oh My!

Presented by Homewood Public Library at Homewood Public Library, Homewood AL

Jun 18 2018
Telescopes, Planets, and Stars: Oh My!

Join us as Dr. David Gauntt, lifelong amateur astronomer, gives a talk on how to use the new library telescopes, what to look for when shopping for your own telescope, and how to find online resources to learn what to look at in the sky.

Telescopes, Planets, and Stars: Oh My!
Monday, June 18, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Large Auditorium
Weather permitting, we will then head outside for a “star party”, where we will use what we have learned to get a good look at the moon, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Albireo (a blue/green double star), and Epsilon Lyra (a double-double star). Bring your own telescope, use one of the library telescopes, or peer into Dr. Gauntt’s 10″ newtonian reflector!
