The Alabama Beta is a 48-hour adventure race that challenges teams of 2-5 to explore the best of Alabama. The party starts on Friday night at Cahaba Brewing where teams will gather to pick up their race packets. Inside, teams will find beta maps and resources for 144 curated challenges across 24 destinations ranging from Railroad Park all the way to The Walls of Jericho. The race ends at Birmingham Boulders where we’ll celebrate, share stories and award prizes to the winners!

Friday September 28th – 5-9pm Kickoff @ Cahaba Brewing. The Alabama Beta begins at 5pm with food from the I Love Bacon Truck and beverages from Cahaba Brewing. Live music will kick off at 6pm with music by Len Park and Park Avenue, and Lee J of Sweet Science Radio. The guys behind the Beta will make a special presentation at 7pm and provide competition packets to all teams. Bacon, beer and bands will be happening until 9pm!
Saturday September 29th. Points can only be logged between 4:30am and 8pm. Campout @ Cherokee Rock Village. The competition begins at sunrise and teams will be completing challenges, posting pics and racing all over Alabama until sundown! The Beta Team will be at Cherokee Rock Village basecamp tracking team progress and preparing for the evening festivities! All participants are invited the campfire, grillin’ and chillin’ with live music from Love Rat, and special presentations from our sponsors!
Sunday September 30th. points can only be logged between 4:30am and 6pm. After party & awards @ Birmingham Boulders. The chase is on again at sunrise! Teams will be back at it tagging as many places as possible to maximize points and make amazing memories! The Beta Team will be back in action at Birmingham Boulders preparing for the awards ceremony. All participants are encouraged to make it back to Birmingham Boulders in the neighborhood of sundown, and the official awards ceremony will take place at 8pm. Winners must be present to claim prizes!
