The Birmingham African American Genealogy Group presents 2023 BLACK HERITAGE FAIR

Each February, we celebrate Black culture, family history and genealogical research. Two speakers highlight the years theme, taken from ASLAH – The Association for the Study of the African American Life and History.

The theme for this year’s celebration is BLACK RESISTANCE.  There will be two speakers addressing ASLAH’s theme and a number of exhibits outlining topics where BLACK RESISTANCE against oppression, racism, subversion, lynching, and all amounts of man’s inhumanity to man. It was through BLACK RESISTANCE that much was overcome in life’s challenges and obstacles.
