Join us at the Homewood Public Library on Tuesday, October 8, 6:30 – 8:00 PM to discuss “The State of Recycling in Birmingham, Alabama” with Leigh Shaffer. Shaffer is Sales Manager of Birmingham Recycling and Recovery and on the Alabama Recycling Coalition Board of Directors. Birmingham Recycling and Recovery (BRR) is a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) where residential and commercial recycling is dumped, separated, baled, and shipped to regional markets who use recycled commodities as feedstock for their products. Ms. Shaffer’s job includes customer service, sales, logistics, education and outreach, and bookkeeping. What recycling questions do you have for Ms. Shaffer?
This meeting will be held in the large auditorium. It is free and open to the public. The League of Women Voters of Greater Birmingham invites you to attend and bring other friends who are interested in learning about the status of recycling in our community and its impact on the environment.
