About Southern DanceWorks
With the naming of internationally known artist Germaul Barnes as the Artistic Director in 2021, the organization is now making preparations to return to the stage with the introduction of a fresh initiative called Tiny Danz. The aim is to create a network of local and national choreographers and dancers to collaborate on future projects and seasons while honoring the legacy of the company since its establishment in 1963. Southern DanceWorks (SDW) last appeared onstage in 2011. From 2012-2022, SDW continued to provide education programs focusing on Dance for PD® (Parkinson’s Disease).
