We rescue, rehabilitate and return to the wild Alabama’s injured and orphaned native birds. Mostly a volunteer-operated nonprofit, the Alabama Wildlife Center was founded in 1977 and is Alabama’s oldest and largest Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center. From baby Ruby-throated Hummingbirds to mature Bald Eagles, AWC annually receives almost 2,000 native wild birds from over 100 different species.
