Highlands United Methodist Church

It is on the streetcar line that ran up and down Twentieth Street that the story of Highlands United Methodist Church began. Highlands has been an anchor on the Circle at Five Points South since 1903. The vision of Highlands UMC is to be a place where all people are welcome and can discover, develop and use their gifts in ministry to God and others. Highlands United Methodist Church is a community of disciples of Christ; a beacon of hope, inviting all to become new persons in Christ to be sent into the world to share the Gospel and to serve our neighbors; and a sanctuary for those in need of God’s love and grace. Highlands faith-in-action hosts weekly Community Ministries programs that provide basic necessities, legal help, and most importantly hope and dignity to Homeless friends. Highlands Child Development Center is NAECY accredited and serves infants through pre-schoolers and their families.
