Exhibits focus on Civil War era iron-making, geology, furnace fuels, cookware, and Birmingham’s cast iron pipe industry. Visitors can also see a mid-1800s machine shop, original parts of the Six Mile Bloomery Forge dating to 1863, and other historical artifacts relating to Alabama’s iron and steel industry.
