To take you where you want to go, the Library offers books, DVDs, music, books on CD, and video games for every age group.

The two story facility houses not only materials to check out but also a computer lab and meeting room. In 2001, the Library earned the “Three Star Rating” for meeting more than 70 criteria signifying superior library service. In 2005, the Alabama Library Association awarded Pelham Public Library “Blue Ribbon Library” status, the highest honor to recognize excellence in library service. Only nine public libraries in the state have ever received this designation.

The Library offers something for every age group. For the youngest members of the community, preschool story times are presented every Wednesday morning and Thursday evening. In addition, there is a summer reading program during the months of June and July and various special programs throughout the year.

Children in grades 6-8 can volunteer at the library as a Junior Librarian. The Junior Librarians assist the staff with programs and activities, primarily during the summer.

Teens have special programs throughout the year and a summer reading program, as well. 11th and 12th graders at Pelham High School have the opportunity to become Library Ambassadors. The Ambassadors promote reading, literacy and use of the Library.
