As one of six chapters of the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA), the Birmingham Chapter (PRCA-B) is part of the state's oldest and largest group for public relations practitioners. PRCA furthers the professional and ethical practice of public relations through the APR accreditation program; by hosting networking and professional development events; by providing students and young professionals opportunities to network with and be mentored by seasoned professionals; and by providing volunteer opportunities that enable a member to learn and grow. In the PRCA Medallion and SPRF Lantern awards programs, members gain peer-reviewed recognition of their best work encompassing the industry's best practices. At only $120 a year (active member level), membership in PRCA-B is the best value in town for building a local network with broad reach. For information, visit www.prca-b.com or email Melanie Goodsell.

PRCA-B's monthly luncheon meetings generally occur on the first Wednesday of each month. They feature expert speakers addressing up-to-the-minute topics, and registration is open to the public — anyone working in or interested in the fields of public relations, communications, marketing and related areas of specialty. Visit the www.prca-b.com home page for meeting information.
