OLLI of Greater Birmingham presents CHINA’S HISTORY and CURRENT POLITICAL and ECONOMIC STATUS with instructor Matt Levey, Professor of History and Director of Asian Studies, Birmingham Southern College.  This course will feature the early history of China and its current culture and political condition, highlighting the heightened prosperity that has brought so many of its citizens out of severe poverty.  Discover what has contributed to the economic improvement and find out whether the form of Communism practiced today is less restrictive than in the past.  What is the new China?
