Opera Birmingham’s season opens with Catch a Rising Star on October 16, featuring baritone Alex DeSocio, winner of the 2016 Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition, in an intimate recital of some of opera’s and classical music’s favorite arias and songs. Previous competition winners have included a number of artists who have gone on to international careers, with this return concert providing valuable exposure and experience for the rising generation of opera stars.
