FREE Alabama Symphony Orchestra Concert outdoors in Railroad Park

Presented by Southeastern Outings and Alabama Symphony Orchestra at Railroad Park

Thanks to the generous support of sponsors, the ASO is excited to play a free series of concerts in Birmingham’s Railroad Park! Enjoy music under the stars with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.  The May 27 concert music program will include:

Giacchino Rossini: Overture to Semiramide

Leo Delibes: Suite from Sylvia

Edvard Grieg: Suite No. 1 from Peer Gynt

Georges Bizet: Suite No. 2 from L’Arlésienne

Grieg’s music for Peer Gynt features melodies that have become cultural icons, including the unmistakable rhythmic drive of “In the Hall of the Mountain King” and the gentle melodic flute in “Morning.” The evening will also include Rossini’s energetic music from his Overture to Semiramide and Bizet’s rousing tunes from L’Arlésienne.
