Tired of the regular Halloween fare and want something off the beaten path?  Adults ages 18 and up, skip the lines at the haunted houses and theaters and join me at the Emmet O’Neal Library’s annual horror movie double feature, Nightmare on Oak Street, on Saturday, October 15th.  We’ll start at 5pm and finish by 9 so you will still have plenty of time to visit your favorite weekend haunts! Dinner will be served.

First up is a dark tale of a true crime novelist struggling to find his next big story.  After moving into a new house, he discovers a box of home videos showing other families being brutally murdered.  His investigation soon leads him to a supernatural entity that may be placing his own family in harm’s way. (RATED R for disturbing, violent images and some terror)

As the perfect chaser, our final film is a comic horror tale perfect for Halloween! On the night when demons and tortured souls are free to walk the earth alongside mortal revelers, four tales of terror–of a staid high school principal who is a Halloween serial killer, a college-age virgin seeking that special guy, a woman who hates dressing up for Halloween and whose husband is obsessed with the holiday and a group of young teens who pull a cruel prank–will make you laugh even while scaring you. (RATED R for horror violence, some sexuality/nudity, and language)
