On October 28th 2016 at the Carver Theatre, both poetry clubs from Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University will do battle. In three different rounds, both clubs will compete to see who has the best poetry skills on the mic. The event will begin 8pm, followed by a reception afterwards.

Both poetry clubs have been recognized for their skills in their areas of Huntsville, AL and Montgomery, AL. Since the Magic City Classic will commence the day after the Slamfest, it is a great opportunity for alumni, students, faculty, and friends to come together.
