Would you like to ride the waves of sensation, thoughts, and feelings instead of battling them? Gentle yoga – mindful movement, meditation on the breath, and deep relaxation – can shore us up to skillfully ride these waves of persistent pain. Join Marie Blair to learn new ways to reduce pain using the tools of yoga.
Based on the Mindful Yoga program by Kimberly and Jim Carson of Oregon Health and Science University, this workshop will explore the foundations of yoga:
· awareness, – directly observing your own experience
· simple being – coming back to the essential aspect of you
· love – recognizing your deep-down goodness
· riding the waves – living skillfully
Discussion and meditation practice in the first hour will be followed by breath-centered, gentle yoga in the second hour. Open to all – newcomers and past participants in Marie’s pain class series. Mats, props, and chairs will be available.?
