BIC International Women's Day Awards Dinner - Honoring Amy Chua, The Tiger Mom

On May 5, 2015, the Birmingham International Center (BIC) will host its annual International Women’s Day Dinner to honor ten local women with our “Motivating Women Awards” to women who inspire others through their work and dedication to a stronger, more culturally aware community.  The BIC is the only organization in Alabama that celebrates International Women’s Day, a global celebration for the economic, political, and social achievements of women.

As part of this annual event, the BIC will also present the prestigious “Woman of Consequence Awards” to Professor Amy Chua, distinguished Professor of Law at Yale Law School, and bestselling author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, who will share thoughts on PARENTING…The Best of East and West, and Dr. Louise Chow, professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and senior scientist at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, who was elected a foreign associate of the National Academy of Sciences for excellence in original scientific research.
