InnoHack 2016

at Innovation Depot

On November 4-5, 2016, Brookwood Baptist Health, alongside of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Innovation Depot, and Thinkdata Solutions will host the second annual Healthcare Innovation Hackathon at Innovation Depot. This event, titled InnoHack 2016, will feature 100 healthcare, business, and technological professionals and students from the Birmingham and surrounding communities.

Last year, the inaugural InnoHack 2015 was Alabama’s first Healthcare Hackathon and featured three prompts which encompassed the engagement of Alabamians in taking care of their health, overcoming barriers that exist, and designing healthcare to address the specific needs of Alabama. Growing our event this year, we will feature a new 24 hour hackathon schedule with only one prompt. An important event to solving the healthcare needs of Alabama, the prompt is designed to encourage innovative thinking within the healthcare field and is specifically written for the current needs of Alabama. Individuals will sign up for the event and be placed on a team in order to promote maximum inter-professional collaboration. For 24 hours the teams will work on a solution to the prompt and submit a final presentation for the competition. Leading up to the announcement of the winning team, there will be a networking and awards mixer for all the teams and sponsors to participate in.

We would like to invite students and professionals alike to be a part of this incredible event. While it is an excellent opportunity to display your knowledge and innovative thinking, it also provides a chance to connect with other leaders in the Birmingham community. In addition to the event, we would also invite you to join us at the awards announcement and closing reception immediately following the event. This networking mixer will involve the mentors, judges, sponsors, and participants of the event and will allow further relationships to be established.

This is a wonderful opportunity for sponsors, mentors, and participants to connect with and collaborate alongside innovative healthcare leaders in Birmingham. We look forward to your support and participation to help make InnoHack 2016 an overwhelming success. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime and I will be sure to follow up in the coming weeks.
