FOOD+Heritage

Presented by Bham FOOD+Culture Festival at Pepper Place

Heritage | noun | her·i·tage: something that is handed down from the past – traditions, values, culture and cuisine – from generations before us. Every city has a unique heritage, shaping what they have become today, and Birmingham is no different. FOOD+Heritage will be an annual event, each year celebrating different cultures, communities and parts of our city’s heritage that have played a role in shaping the Magic City’s distinguished culinary identity.

As we honor the 60th anniversary of the civil rights movement, the inaugural FOOD+Heritage dinner will recognize a period in Birmingham history that shaped the future of our city and our country. The pivotal events of 1963 were a message to the world that helped the fight against segregation and racial injustice. Sixty years later, Black chefs have played a major role in defining the culinary identity of Birmingham, our region, and country, and FOOD+Heritage will be a celebration of their talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. At this seated, multi-course dinner, guests will gather, dining al fresco at Birmingham’s iconic Pepper Place, to recognize acclaimed Black chefs from the Magic City and across the region.

This event is 21+.

No refunds, transfers or exchanges.

This event is rain or shine. The seated dinner will take place family-style outside at Pepper Place Showroom Parking Lot.
