Pianist Lucian Ban has garnered accolades for his jazz-infused reimaginings of folk tunes originating from the Transylvanian region of Romania where he grew up, and his album Transylvanian Folk Songs with frequent collaborator Matt Maneri made the top 10 of NPR’s 2020 Jazz Critics Poll.
