We return to the beautifully restored Lyric Theatre to perform the first of Haydn’s Paris Symphonies. The joyous final movement reminded the French of music that accompanied dancing bears. ASO Principal Flute Lisa Wienhold solos in a concerto where each movement pays tribute to a different renaissance or baroque composer, referred to by the composer as a “handshake across the centuries.”
