We are thrilled to bring back our enriching summer art camp series this year, continuing to nurture the youth in our area and encouraging creativity, exploration, innovation, and imagination.
In the mesmerizing exhibition “Heroes & Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume,” campers will embark on an immersive journey, exploring various costumes that utilize special effects (FX) to bring beloved characters to life. However, it’s not just the costumes that make the characters—special effects play a crucial role in adding depth and realism to their portrayal.
Led by experienced instructors, campers will be introduced to the exciting world of special effects through a series of hands-on activities and immersive experiences. From make-up design and application to mask-making and prop creation, participants will have the opportunity to learn the techniques used by industry professionals to create stunning visual effects.
Throughout the week-long camp, campers will have the chance to unleash their creativity as they experiment with different materials and techniques to bring their visions to life. Whether it’s crafting intricate masks, mastering the art of prosthetic make-up, or building dynamic props, participants will explore a wide range of special effects disciplines.
