Alabama Charcoal Art Classes

Alabama Charcoal Art Classes

Presented by Space One Eleven at Space One Eleven

Alabama Charcoal is Space One Eleven’s advanced studio art class, portfolio development, and career mentoring program for high school students who are serious about art. This rigorous program is designed to increase students’ college or career opportunities by building or enhancing visual art portfolios and drawing skills. Professional artists, designers, and writers serve as mentors, leading workshops, critiques, and portfolio assessments. The art class will reinforce or build upon a student’s knowledge of:

The elements of art and principles of design
Art studio vocabulary and procedures
The proper application of a variety of art techniques and mediums
Studio maintenance
How to critique and formally evaluate their own artwork and the artwork of their peers

If a student is interested in pursuing a college degree in visual art or design or interested in applying to ASFA, artist teachers and mentors will guide the student in portfolio development, applications, scholarship research, and admission essays.
