In this season we often renew intentions and actions to improve ourselves.  We shape our intentions into New Year’s resolutions, beginning with the phrase “I will.”  If we don’t follow-through on “I will” we weaken our wills and condition ourselves into “I won’t”, “I can’t”, etc. Use ancient and modern science of mind to recruit the subconscious, strengthen motivations, and increase resolve (sankalpa).  In the first hour learn practical strategies for promoting focused Lifestyle Changes and general Lifestyle Discipline.  In the second hour perform an easy experiential exercise in self inquiry (atma vichara) which can provide a practical glimpse at the nature of the Self where personality structures we take for granted as “who we are” are not.  From this vantage point obstacles which hinder follow-through on good intentions can be seen as baseless, making it easier to exercise the resolve to further focus the life force for health and success.
